Martin Ellis

[Martin Ellis]

Martin Ellis was born in 1981 in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 1999, he moved to Newcastle upon Tyne, England, to study at Newcastle University. After achieving a first class degree in Software Engineering he stayed at the University and is currently studying for a PhD.

Martin has held several summer jobs working on various proprietary database applications and system administration. His dissatisfaction with those database systems motivates his involement in Kexi. Since joining the Kexi team, Martin has concentrated on the KexiDB library and it's support for various databases. In future, he hopes to work on integration with KOffice.

When not studying, or working on Kexi, Martin can often be found playing the bagpipes in North Tyneside Pipe Band; involved in the backstage crew for a theatre production, or simply making another cup of tea.
